Culture Shot: April Fool's Day

April Fools' Day though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1st. The day is marked by the commission of practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, enemies and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible.

Embarrass the gullible, huh? Well, it is a fun day to say the least. The small practical joke on your mom as a kid. Or, hiding something precious from a loved one. I can think of all the jokes played on this gullible girl through the years. A cruel tradition indeed, but more or less usually hysterical.

Gullible or quick-witted, be on the look out for the prankster in your life today!
