Style file: Great deal on Zutano shorts!
We're heading into the home stretch of Summer, and although the heat doesn't die down for awhile, retailers start to make room for all the wonderful Fall fashions that start hitting stores for back to school. Two Blue Peas is no exception.
For a limited time you can buy Zutano cotton shorts for just $8! Elastic waist with the softest cotton you will find on baby clothing, these shorts are guaranteed to last through not just one season, but many. Zutano makes the kind of wearable that each sibling will enjoy.
I love this time of year when all the summer clothing goes on sale, and it's only the end of July. If you're in the south, your little one will be wearing these shorts until at least October. So, start shopping, the sale ends 8/15!

Hello Peas -- Since you're in the baby clothes biz, I have a hope that you can give me some advice. I am a mom of a big brother Quinn and baby sister Helen. Having simply and successfully dressed the brother in cargo shorts and too-cute-to-be real golf shirts for three summers running, I was caught completely off guard by the warm weather selections available for girls. Am I the only person who finds it troublesome to dress my baby girl in casual clothes for summer?
We have perfect cotton sundresses for days out of the house, and we have at least 20 pairs of capri pants for cooler days. But, on hot, hot Texas days when we have only a trip to the playground and nap on the agenda, we have flowery, ruffley and pastel-ey spaghetti strap tanks. But what do we have to match with those tanks? Sadly, only hot pants - you know, short shorts with a 3/4" inseam.
Now, I do have a problem with the look and the concept of this. I don't think my teeny toddler with two spiky pigtails on the top of her head needs to wear shorts that are cut like Jessica Simpson's. That's problem number one. But the bigger issue is that the short shorts just don't do my Helen-belle justice on the slide with her chubby little legs sticking and screeching all the way down.
You'll know I was thrilled when I found her some bermuda shorts - even if they are almost pedal pushers falling just at the bottom of her knees - at least now she can slide down the slide and enjoy it. But these bermudas have a low rise, showing off most of the back of her diaper for everyone to see. Being a die-hard thumb-sucker, now she has both hands full all the time - one in the mouth and the other pulling and tugging at the back of her pants.
So, my question, dear Peas, is this -- I know it's impossible for us grown up girls to find pants that fit (and make sense), but does it have to be that way for our baby girls too?
You said it April! It does seem harder and harder these days to find good old cotton shorts that let your child's chubby legs breathe without looking totally, inappropriately daisy duke short!
Not just because we sell them and because they come in great basic stripes and solids, but also because they are cut nice and high-waisted to cover diapers, Zutano's shorts are about the best out there.
The cotton is comfortable and thin, and the pull-on elastic waistband is not as tight as shorts with a zipper or button closure.
BabyGap also carries some great thinner bermudas, but they cost an arm and a chubby leg unless you catch them on sale.
Hope this helps. Stay cool out there on the playground!
